Stephen Alexander "Alex B" Bernard is a contestant who competed on season 3 of Fishtank. He quit on Day 22 and finished in 6th place. He is not to be confused with the female Alex B who succeeded him on the season.
Personal Life[]
Alex owns an animal sanctuary with spider monkeys, cheetahs and other animals. He is the son of Michael Lee Bernard, a late entrepreneur purported to be worth $850 million, though claims to have not been named in his will. Alex got married to "a Latina BBW" 6 days prior to appearing. He has ADHD. He claims to be 6 years free of an 18-year-long opiates addiction. He is from Louisville, Kentucky, but lives in Houston, Texas.
Fishtank Season 3[]
Alex B entered the house with the rest of the original cast on the first day, on October 27. Alex B was an eccentric character known for constantly talking and often exaggerating or even fabricating stories. He mentioned he was always meant to be an entertainer, and being on a reality show was his dream.
He mentioned Fishtank several times on day one, prompting Ben (the producer) to tell him not to discuss the casting, contract, or Fishtank, claiming that Fishtank was another company they had worked with in the past (at least until the Famous House facade was dropped later on). He quickly developed a friendship with Binx due to their shared interests in "nerdy" media.
After the Fishtank reveal and transition into act 2, a user named "Wild Randy" would send TTS messages to Alex threatening to cause harm to his family and monkeys. More users started sending messages as Wild Randy, which caused Alex to start yelling and threatening Randy every time.
On Day 21 (November 16), Alex's wife Jacqueline and stepdaughter Lauren briefly came onto the show to confront him over things he has said on the show and his "relationship" with Binx. Things immediately got physical, as Jacqueline tried to attack Binx and ripped chunks of her hair out. She also slapped Alex multiple times. Lauren and Jacqueline later told the fish that the $50,000 prize and fishbucks weren't real. After Alex's family left, he admitted to Binx that he had developed feelings for her.
Elimination Details[]
On Day 22 (November 17), Alex B quit the show alongside Connor, with the final straw being Frank threatening to violate his monkeys.
After Fishtank[]
After leaving the house, Alex B had a lengthy meltdown on Instagram Live, which he used to espouse several conspiracies about the show. He accused Sam Hyde of several acts of misconduct before later retracting it, claimed production was begging for his return, communicated an inexplicable belief that a contestant had died on a previous season, suggested that a live stream had been edited, and thereafter tried to monetize and capitalize on his chaos.
Trivia[]
- Alex B's name on the Contestants tab was changed to Alex X after day 29, and the arrival of the female Alex B in Famous House 2.0.
