Fishtank All-Stars Vampire Bloodgames, also known as Season 2.5, was an interactive wilderness-survival competition and live-action roleplaying game which served as the first spin-off of Fishtank. It was livestreamed online in real-time for a two week runtime, from June 25 - July 8, 2024. The show stayed live after its end into a new event titled The Cell / Bitchtank.

The YouTube description for the trailer reads,

"Fishtank is back, but before we head into our third season we bring you Fishtank All-Stars Vampire Bloodgames-- a real life first person RPG game occupied by your favorite characters from fishtank fame. 6 all stars return to camp out in the woods for 14 days. Their objective: stay alive and don't get bit. During the day, players may visit the town, explore locations, loot for supplies, or fortify their camp. At night, the monsters come out to play. Fish must avoid the vampires, level up, and brave the unpredictable elements. Beware: your bitten allies may come back to get you. They know your camp well. POV 1st person action. FPS gameplay. Intense outdoor challenges. Returning friendly faces. LARPing game mechanics. Bloodgames."[1]

Bloodgames Labelled Map

The map image taken directly from the official website, with added labels for each area.

A group of six contestants, returning "all-star" personalities from the main show, are referred to as the "players". Instead of a house they are confined to the "map", a ten acre plot of woodlands converted into 11 points-of-interest connected via trails and uncleared forest.[2] Leaving this property deems the player out of bounds and temporarily out of play. Similarly to the parent show, Bloodgames is broadcast live 24/7 and gives the audience the option to interact with the show via text-to-speech donations and sound effects. There are eleven cameras overlooking the major points of interest, as well as six body-cameras and portable speakers worn by each player. Staying composed while dealing with humiliation and vitriol remains an integral part of the game.

The players are to live and survive outdoors throughout the competition. Exploring the map, collecting loot and resources, defending the basecamp, and completing quests are essential to winning. There are various classes (such as the medic, paladin, witch, soldier, and knight), each with different capabilities and attributes. Players are eliminated by death (loss of all life-points indicated by red snap-on wristbands), forced ejection, or quitting the game. They share the map with three other groups: The NPCs (non-player characters), actors who roam around offering quests, insight, and trickery. The vampires, inhabitants of The Downs, raid during the night and attack the players. Lastly, the sharks, masked mute gunmen who moderate the game and take orders from the admins (the production staff).

There is a main quest the players must work together to complete. It has differing paths and many mysteries to unravel, all dependent on the choices made. Side-quests are also available offering rewards such as currency (gold and silver coins), items, and information. Choosing to ignore the rules, game mechanics, canon lore, or quests results in failing role-play and reprimanding from production. Repeated offence can result in ejection from the game.

Bloodgames-YellowFishIcon

"2.5" or "Season 2.5" was the working title teased in April 2024 via posts on X.[3][4] Fishtank All-Stars Vampire Bloodgames was officially announced on May 10, 2024 when the trailer premiered immediately after the "investor update" stream. Keeping in line with past seasons that day all official accounts were updated to a new profile picture, the classic fish icon over a bright yellow background.

On May 20, 2024, a post was made with an announcement[5] delaying the season until June 25, 2024, more than three weeks later than the original date. Tech testing, lighting adjustments, map improvements, and quest development were cited as the reasons and promotional posts returned the following day.

In early June, the website was updated to show a timer counting down to 2PM on June 25, 2024, overlayed on the live streams page. All trail camera locations and contestants were also revealed. The show went live on the scheduled day, after a short delay.
